FAQs

Do you make your balsamic vinegars and oils on your own?

Our Extra Virgin Olive Oils come from all over the world, from small family farms and estates. Our balsamic vinegars are produced in Modena, Italy. Our 25 Star Balsamic has a minimum of 80% concentrated grape must and aged red wine vinegar.and are aged in Slovanian Oak barrels for 3 years. We work directly with the importers to hand select and procure these amazing products.

Do you carry balsamic glaze?

When people are looking for balsamic glaze, they are often looking for a thick, sweet dark balsamic to use as a topping on desserts. Because our vinegars are already aged and condensed, they usually meet this desire, especially our 25 Star Dark Balsamic. Other than that we do not carry any balsamic glaze.

Do you have cold-pressed olive oil?

Yes, all of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is cold-pressed. Most of our infused oils are also cold-pressed, though a few of the infusions need to be heated or steeped for several hours over low heat with fresh herbs to create the flavorful dynamic infusion.

How do you guarantee the quality of the olive oil you are selling?

We are in direct contact with the suppliers of our olive oils. All of our extra virgin olive oils are sent for chemical analysis testing for acidity levels, polyphenol counts, and composition.  We believe this level of contact helps us to assess the producers to know that we are receiving the finest quality product from them. We only work with small trusted suppliers for our extra virgin olive oil to ensure direct sourcing and product quality. Extra virgin olive oil is best within 2 years of the harvest date. We ONLY sell the freshest extra virgin olive oil, available from each harvest season (October/ November for the Mediterranean regions and Summer for Southern hemisphere regions).

I'm looking for a good extra virgin olive oil for cooking, which would you recommend?

The Greek Koroneiki is a great versatile extra virgin olive oil. Try the Spanish Picual for something more robust and peppery, or the Chilean for something more mild and nutty. Extra Virgin Olive Oil has wonderful health benefits, but keep in mind that heating oil does break down some the polyphenols that provides said benefits. Because of this extra virgin olive oil is good for sauteeing, but you probably don't want to use it for frying.

Is this your only location?

Yes. Though many balsamic vinegar and olive oil stores are popping up around the country, we like to say they are similar in concept, different in execution. In other words, just because other stores carry products with similar names, doesn't mean they taste the same. We take pride in offering the highest quality vinegars and oils from a variety of suppliers. We are not a franchise or tied into a franchise model like many other taproom and tasting room stores.

How long have you been in business?

We opened in late summer of 2013.
